
LIGMO for Communication and Conflict / Dealing with Difficult People Course Description
The underlying cause of conflict and dysfunction is stress. The impact is so great that even well-meaning and highly evolved, peaceful individuals can be compromised by it, affecting their work. The LIGMO Stress workshop will help rewire the body’s stress pathways and realign the group with their own inner security, thus changing their perceptions of themselves and others. Some of the effects of stress in the workplace are:
- Uncooperative attitude
- Sarcasm and disrespect
- Resistance to change
- Gossip and negative talk
- Other behaviors that undermine success of the organization
LIGMO for Communication Outline
- Identify Simply Ridiculous stressors and self-perceptions that cause stress in the first place
- Understand the impact that stressful attitudes, beliefs and behaviors have in the workplace and in our personal lives
- Examine “Who you’re being” and what you’re creating in your relationships, at work, on the team, etc.
- Learn to take the significance out of the insignificant
- Learn how to “let go of the ridiculous” and move on to what is essential and important
- Creating a new baseline for living: Getting out of chaos and into coherence

- Communication: Improved internal communication and reframing of stressful situations
- Health Education: Practical, simple tools for stress reduction, health and well-being
- Emotional Intelligence: Learn emotional self-management methods & improve communication
- Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts easily by seeking first to understand, then to be understood
- Interpersonal Skills: Improve communication with others through-heart centered listening and speaking, sensitivity, consideration and positive mutual reciprocity
Course Format
- Duration: This course is delivered as a full day workshop with a three hour morning and afternoon session. The workshop can be modified to two half day sessions.
- Course Content: 40% lecture, 60% experiential exercises
- Class Size: Small group 15-30 willing learners | Large group 30-100 willing learners
- Course Materials: Handouts supplied by the instructor
- Target Audience: Employees, Managers
- Participation: To gain the intended benefits, full participation in all exercises, a positive attitude and open mind are required.
